Miss GB Edinburgh Charity Fundraising Event Raises Over £50,000

A Heartfelt Donation to The Simpson Neonatal Unit Edinburgh Charity Fundraising

Emma, a trustee of Simpsons Special Care Babies (SSCB), welcomed Veronika Walker to The Simpson Neonatal Unit, where she presented an incredible cheque for £22,100. This generous donation is just one of many ways Veronika has supported the unit, its families, and the dedicated staff. Having experienced the neonatal care first-hand when her twins were born, Veronika’s appreciation for the expertise and care provided has driven her ongoing fundraising efforts.

Veronika Walker: A Tireless Advocate for Charitable Causes

Veronika Walker has long been an enthusiastic supporter of SSCB (an Edinburgh charity fundraising) as well as an advocate for women and families. Her commitment to raising awareness and funding for these causes culminated in her role as Regional Director of Miss GB Edinburgh.

Reflecting on the hard work and dedication required, Veronika said:

“I’m exhausted – it’s been a hard few months making all of this happen, but I am thrilled at how the event went. Seeing it come to life before my eyes, just as I pictured it, was incredibly rewarding.”

The Event: Glamour, Generosity, and Community Spirit

The Miss GB Edinburgh event was an extravagant affair hosted at Prestonfield House Hotel and attended by over 300 guests. The evening featured an auction and a raffle with the main objective of the evening to allow the participates to showcase their talents and individual charitable initiatives they have tirelessly advocated for but also supporting Veronika’s cause, SSCB. Through this collective effort, the event raised an impressive total of over £50,000.

Veronika praised the participants, stating,

“Our winners and all our finalists brought so much to the event. We have created something truly special, and I hope they will now be inspired to work with charities they are passionate about.”

Supporting Two Worthy Causes: Women’s Aid Edinburgh and Simpsons Special Care Babies

This remarkable event was run entirely as a non-profit initiative. Every penny raised was split between two vital organisations: Women’s Aid Edinburgh and Simpsons Special Care Babies. These two charities provide critical support to vulnerable women and families, making the funds raised at the event more meaningful.

Veronika’s passion and commitment to helping others was obvious throughout the event. Her leadership and dedication not only ensured its success but also encouraged future collaborations between beauty pageants and charitable organisations.

A Legacy of Philanthropy and Empowerment

Veronika Walker’s passion in organising the Miss GB Edinburgh event will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy. Beyond the substantial financial contributions to both charities the event empowered participants and attendees to become involved in philanthropy. It highlighted how community events can bring people together to support those who need it and it encouraged others to follow in Veronika’s footsteps of charitable giving.

This innovative event sets a new standard for combining glamour with a heart for charity and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for Veronika and the Miss GB Edinburgh team.
