Cameron

Our wee boy, Cameron was born at 31 weeks and 3 days in January 2001. He was 2lb 7oz. He was in the NNU for 7 weeks and we were able to take him home when he reached 4lbs and learned how to put a feeding tube in for him.

You guys were amazing, you looked after Steven and I as well as our wee poppet. At the time I remember a notice board and recall reading stories of other families about their children who were wee premmies and spent time in the NNU.

I just wanted to share that our wee Cameron played rugby for Scotland U19’s for the first time this weekend against Wales. I cried like a baby when the national anthem was played because I remember the fight he had when he was born.

Those stories on the noticeboard gave Steven and I hope and so I’m sharing Cameron’s story in the hope that it may give support to parents who are in the position we were in almost 19 years ago.

Thank you so much for everything you do.
